A LITTLE HELP BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT
Recording a walk offline with RunRo
Recording your walk and downloading a map are different tasks. Quick Walk can record without internet, while a new planned route and new map tiles need a connection.
Start without a planned route
In the Walk tab, choose Quick Walk and allow the location access requested by RunRo. You do not need an account or a response from the RunRo API to record. Usable GPS updates are still needed, even when your internet connection is unavailable.
Pause and resume as needed, then finish the walk to save it on your phone. Open Progress or History to view saved walks. Local history does not depend on the routing service.
A missing map does not mean the same thing as missing GPS
Map tiles are downloaded over the internet. A map may be incomplete offline because the tiles you need are unavailable. Offline recording does not promise a complete offline map or downloadable map areas.
Check location permission if the walk is not recording. An internet connection alone cannot replace GPS updates or grant permission. GPS availability and iOS location updates can affect what is recorded.
Plan a new loop while connected
New loop planning needs internet access and currently covers Türkiye only. If you cannot plan a route, Quick Walk lets you record without a planned route. It does not create offline turn-by-turn guidance.
Keep your local history in mind
Saved walks are stored on your phone. If a walk is interrupted, reopen RunRo and use the recovery screen when one is offered. Recovery saves what was recorded; it does not reconstruct missing time or location updates.
Deleting the app can remove saved walks. If you want to keep them and need help with a problem, contact support before deleting the app. You do not need to email your GPS trace.
